Lost a pet? Found a stray?

  1. Post on “nextdoor
  2. Post on “SJL…hood” on Facebook
  3. Contact Lost and Found Pets of Northeast Florida on Facebook or e-mail pictures to lostandfoundpetsneflorida@hotmail.commailto:lostandfoundpetsneflorida@hotmail.com to have your lost pet displayed on social media and reach a large local population.
  4. Go to Animal Care and Protective Services as soon as possible to look for your pet.
    1. 2020 Forest Street, 32204: Tuesday-Friday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Closed on Mondays).
    2. Browse through our lost animals above. Use the pictures of the pets as a reference for you to come into the shelter and definitively confirm whether or not your pet is here at ACPS.
  5. Go to the Jacksonville Humane Society as soon as possible.
    1. 8464 Beach Blvd, 32216: Monday-Friday from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m – 5 p.m.

  6. Email Jaxpets@coj.net with the information, so Animal Code Enforcement Officers and Intake staff will be alerted.
  7. Post fliers around our neighborhood with a picture of the pet.
  8. Go door-to-door in the neighborhood.
  9. Put an ad in the pets and regular sections of Craig’s List; update often.
  10. If your pet is missing and microchipped, verify your contact information is up-to-date with the microchip company and inform them your pet is missing.
  11. If you have found a stray that is microchipped most veterinarians and animal shelters have microchip scanners that allow them to read the chip number and get in touch with the microchip company to report the pet as found. The microchip company then reaches out to the owner to let them know their pet has been located and where.
